Single Photon Detectors

Accurate single-photon detection depends not only on the detector, but also on preserving the fast electrical signals it generates. Cri/oFlex®-based I/O systems provide compact, low-distortion cryogenic signal routing for photonic applications where timing accuracy and pulse fidelity are critical.

Designed for demanding photonic systems, Cri/oFlex® supports the accurate transmission and measurement of pulses lasting less than a nanosecond while fitting efficiently into space-constrained cryogenic setups.

Application highlights

Small form factor and flexible construction simplify integration into space-constrained cryostats

Controlled transmission characteristics help maintain consistent group velocity across channels and frequencies, supporting accurate timing measurements

The monolithic flex construction minimizes transmission distortion, helping preserve the shape and timing of fast detector pulses

Multiple detector signals can be routed through a compact, mechanically robust I/O platform, supporting systems with increasing detector counts

// I/O OVERVIEW

I/O overview

Cri/oFlex®-based I/O systems are designed for the fast signal transmission required by single-photon detectors, including superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs).

By combining controlled transmission characteristics, matched multi-channel routing, and a compact monolithic flex architecture, Cri/oFlex® helps preserve the timing and shape of sub-nanosecond detector signals from the cryogenic environment to the readout electronics
